I created this photograph for Tommy to wear to the Buckhorn Valley Club show which fell on July 4 last year.  Although the last day of the show was July 3 this year, Tommy asked to show his love of country on is Blog.  Well now it is July 13 delayed because of the necessity to replace the computer.

This month is also the month to celebrate our dogs.  Tommy thought it would be fine to celebrate all month. He has asked me to create a Special Offer for the month.  From now to the end of July, we are offering a different kind of offer.  The normal creation fee for comissioned portraits is $100. However during this time 10 people who reply to this blog and  are accepted  may apply $50, of the creation fee toward a portrait from the session. 

To participate you need to send me an e-mail at maggie_ann@q.com and request details of the offer. There will be no suprises, you will invest $100. and have $50. to spend and will be under no further obligation. 

This cannot be combined with any other offer. Normal studio policies will apply.

My portraits are on display at The Total Image on College Avenue.  I have been accepted in the Pets on the Poudre:Dog Days of Summer August 4 at the Poudre River Gallery in connection with the First Friday Gallery Walk.

Three cats, Miss White, Miss Black, Miss Grey

This is my second post and it is long overdue.  The three cats were triplets.  They would have been 17 later this year .  I lost Miss White last year and Miss Black just last in early March. Just could not write about it sooner.  I am quite busy now helping Miss Grey getting used to being the only cat.  She is much to old to introduce an other cat.  I will post a photo soon.

First Friday is upon us and AANC will be having open house in their new digs on Oak street.   I am showing three of my portraits.  So if you are in Fort Collins and out and about I hope you will drop in and say hello.  It's lots of fun.

Hello,

I am Margaret and this is my first ever blog.  I have been creating portraits of family pets for many years.  I started my business in California when the world was film.  Now I am working in Fort Collins and the world is Digital.

In this blog I hope to share stories with you and from you.  I have an increasing knowledge and respect for the contributions of our dogs to our lives.  Whether they are companions in our daily lives or  have increasingly complicated jobs , they are truly marvelous. 

I love the independence of my cats.  The cats that I have had accept life on their own terms.  If they want to sit in my lap or interrupt my work,  they have no hesitation.  And they usually get their way.

This elderly Golden Retriever belonged to a friend of mine.  She wished to have a portrait created which would show off  her beautiful coat.  It is unusual for a golden her age to have such a fine coat.

One word about the copyright  notice which is so prominent.  All photographs are copyrighted as soon as they are taken and All Rights Are Reserved.  Unfortunately some times people do not understand.  Since animals tend to be copied, I have decided to give additional protection to my clients.  I know of instances where images have turned up in circumstances which were offencive to the owner.  I hope you will understand.
